Your Personal Chill Apartment
Your Personal Chill Apartment is a charming and cozy room decoration game that blends creativity with light productivity features while listening to some chill music. The productivity mechanics are rather basic: you can define any number of tasks and assign each a value of up to 150 coins. When you complete a task (which involves crossing it off the list), you earn the corresponding amount of coins. These coins can be spent on buying items to add to your virtual space.
The game features an extensive set of furniture and decoration items to satisfy a wide range of aesthetics. Starting with an empty space, you can mix and match them to create and customize living rooms, bedrooms, study corners, children’s play areas, inner gardens and more. Each item is fully recolorable, allowing you to match your color scheme throughout the room. Additionally, the ambient weather can also be changed.
However, the game’s limitations become noticeable fairly quickly. You’re confined to a single room per save file, essentially capping your creativity to what feels like a one-room studio apartment. There’s no bathroom, kitchen, or any way to expand your space, which feels restrictive. The ability to add multiple rooms to a single save and switch between them, like flipping through pages in a design journal, would be a great improvement to the current design.
While the variety of furniture and the delightful visuals (including lovely light effects like sun rays through windows and soft ambient glows from wall lamps) are undeniably appealing, the game lacks depth or usability. The productivity system is minimal, and beyond decorating, there’s not much else to keep players engaged long-term.
Given this, the $8 (later dropped to) $7 price tag feels hard to justify. There are plenty of similar games available at a lower price point, while also offering a more robust set of productivity features. At best, Your Personal Chill Apartment is a delightful and aesthetically satisfying distraction rather than a tool for sustained productivity.
